Skincare Routine For Men
It’s never too late for men to start a skincare routine. In fact, it is important that men start caring for their skin beyond just washing their face with soap. It doesn’t have to be a fancy or elaborate routine. Just following a couple of steps in your regular skincare routine will visibly change your skin and help you have brighter and glowing skin. Here is a simple routine that will help you care for your skin without taking up too much of your time:
Cleansing
After a long day of being out and about, this step of your skincare routine will energize and cleanse your face. Using an face wash for men twice a day will help you get rid of all the dirt, dust and pollution that is trapped in your skin. If you don’t cleanse your face well, it may lead to breakouts. Men tend to have more sebaceous glands as compared to women. If you have oily skin, using a face wash with clay will help deeply detox your skin. Which is why it is important that you use a clay face wash for men that deeply cleanses and removes excessive oils from your skin.
Sunscreen
This step is the one step that most of us tend to skip out on. But regular use of sunscreen is extremely important. Sunscreen protects our skin from harmful UVA and UVB rays. Constant exposure to the rays of the sun can lead to faster ageing, dark spots on skin and in extreme conditions also lead to severe skin conditions. You use a men’s face cream that has SPF in it. This will help you hydrate your face while also protecting you from the rays of the sun. A skincare tip would be to apply sunscreen at least 30 minutes before stepping outside. This will help the product sink into your skin well without feeling too sticky.
Moisturizer
Moisturizing your face is important to maintain the integrity of your skin. It helps hydrate your skin and balance the secretion of sebum. It is a myth that people with oily skin shouldn’t moisturize their face. People with oily skin can use a lightweight moisturizer whereas people with dry skin can opt for richer moisturizes. A moisturizer helps your skin to retain moisture and keep it soft and bouncy. If you have irritated or acne-prone skin, using a moisturizer for men will help you calm your skin. You should apply moisturizer every time you wash your face, which is at least twice a day.
Masking
Do this step of your skincare routine when you want to pamper yourself. Sheet masks are drenched with serum and provide a lot of hydration and a boost of glow to your skin. Sheet masking at least once a week intensely hydrates your skin, reduces the appearance of pores, brightens your skin, and enriches your skin. Using a charcoal sheet mask will cleanse your pores while also giving your skin a boost of hydration and nourishment. After a long tiring day, pop on a sheet mask while relaxing and unwinding. In just 15 minutes, you will soft and smooth skin.
Spot Treatment
On days when you have a pimple on your face, you can incorporate a spot treatment cream for your acne into your routine. Spot treatment is a pimple cream for men that has a potent formula. The spot treatment will help shrink the pimple, soothe redness and fight any pimple causing bacteria. Since a spot treatment is more potent than a cream, it shrinks your pimples much faster. Remember to not apply the spot treatment all across your face as it may lead to irritation. Use it before going to bed at night to wake up to a shrunken pimple.
Men’s skin is tougher as compared to the skin of women. However, it ages quicker in comparison to women’s skin. Taking regular care of your skin will ensure that your skin feels softer and brighter. It also results in a delay in the signs of ageing. Gone are the days when only women cared about vanity. The men of today invest time and effort into caring for their skin and bear the fruits of it. Caring for your skin will make you look dapper and younger for longer.
